Integrative Psychodynamic Counsellor
About my work
As a relationally orientated therapist, I help clients integrate past and present psychological difficulties through the use of the therapeutic relationship. Since we are often unable to control how we feel, the therapeutic work is about understanding and accepting feelings and learning ways to manage them better.
Typical issues my Integrative approach can help with include: depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem/confidence, feeling isolated, childhood abuse/trauma, repetitive patterns of finding oneself in the same unsatisfactory situations and relationships (including issues relating to Narcissistic and Borderline processes), bereavement & loss, gender identity concerns, and self-harming/destructive behaviours (including substance misuse).
I have a particular interest in supporting those suffering from chronic depression with or without significant developmental (childhood) trauma.
Background and training
I am a qualified Integrative Psychodynamic Counsellor (BACP registered). I have over fifteen years’ professional experience working with children, adults and families within mental and social health services. Prior to my therapy training my academic background includes Masters in Psychology and trainings in a wide range of therapeutic interventions including Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Person-Centred Emotion Focused therapy for depression.
I abide by the Code of Ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As well as working in Private Practice, I also manage a team of counsellors working in the NHS and deliver short-term counselling in G.P surgeries across the London borough of Lambeth.
I work with adults in one-to-one sessions. The fee for individual 50-minute sessions is £65-£75. I have a limited number of concession spaces available upon agreement.
Locations and availability
I practice at Linen Hall on Regent Street (W1) on Thursday afternoons and evenings. Other appointments at my Brixton location are also possible throughout the week, please get in touch.
