COMING FOR THERAPY

Therapy is an effective support for self development, growth and healing. That often means to look at the experiences and habitual ways of being which hold us back from achieving this natural development.

Indicators that therapy could be a good support for you are the symptoms you notice in your daily life.

Therapy can be particularly helpful if you experience for example:

  • Panic attacks, feeling anxious or overwhelmed

  • Relationship or marital difficulties, a break-up or divorce (as an individual or as a couple)

  • Feeling sad, a lack of motivation or pleasure in life

  • Feeling bad about yourself or a sense of worthlessness

  • Having trouble sleeping, nightmares or constant worrying

  • Finding yourself in unsatisfying or abusive relationships

  • Superstitious thoughts or habits which you can't let go of

  • An underlying sense of fear, like something bad might happen

  • Getting into fights or disputes with other people or losing your job often

  • Sudden outbursts of anger or tears that seem disproportionate to you

  • Not being able to form fulfilling or lasting intimate relationships

  • Insecurities about who you are or what you want, making decisions

  • Feeling like some events from the past keep holding you back

  • Transitions from one major life stage into the next (for example: moving country, leaving school/University, becoming a parent or grandparent, being made redundant or retiring from work)

  • Bereavement or loss

  • Feeling inhibited, numb, or like 'there must be more to life'

  • Suffering from isolation and loneliness

  • Existential dread, fear of death, illness or ageing

  • Noticing any of the above experiences in your children

You might not know exactly what it is you want to work on, or just have a general idea of needing some support with the challenges of your life at the moment.

We will first meet for an initial consultation, where we talk about your reasons for coming, your hopes and expectations, reservations and questions about beginning this process. We can then explore the options for how we might be working together and you can make a decision afterwards.
